Rajakkad

Rajakkad is a small town in Idukki district. Rajakkad is famous for cardamom plantations. The main crops are Cardamom (elaichi), black pepper and ginger. Rajakkad is a tourist destination, offering Kallimali View Point, Ponmudi Dam and Kuthumkal waterfalls.

Ripple Falls is situated at Sreenarayanapuram. The perennial Ripple waterfalls is formed over the Muthirapuzhayar. Near the Ripple Falls there is adventure activity like zip line, River side walk (Ripple Adventure).

Chathurangapara

The View point is located in the Idukki district of Kerala by the border of Kerala and Tamilnadu. 6000ft above the sea. The wind is so heavy here at times you feel like flying off.

Eravikulam National Park

The Eravikulam National Park situated in the Kannan Devan Hills of the southern Western Ghats. The wildlife park with an area of 97 sq.km, can be reached via Munnar. The national park is a protected area and is divided into three regions, the core area, the buffer area and the tourism area. Visitors are allowed only to tourism area that is in Rajamala. Eravikulam is also famous for the natural habitat of Nilgiri Tahr, the endangered mountain goat and this park is built with the aim of conserving them. This place where you can witness the mass flowering of Neelakurinji flowers.

Echo Point

About 15km from Munnar lies the famous Echo Point. Popular for its natural echo phenomenon, one can always see the area full of eager visitors throughout the year. At an altitude of about 600ft. This is also a prime viewing spot for the Neelakurinji, flowers which blooms once every twelve years.

Kundala Lake

The picturesque Kundala lake is sourrounded by green valleys and majestic landscapes, that almost every photographer would like to capture in their lenses. Kundala is located approximately 20km from Munnar on the way to Top Station. The adjacent Kundala Lake also offers an unforgettable experience to tourists. You can get on a pedal boat or a rowboat to explore the lake and enjoy the views. Kashmiri shikara boats, too, are available for rent at Kundala Dam Lake Munnar.

Vattavada

Most locations in Munnar are generally known for their slopes, rare fauna and a wonderful view of the valley. Vattavada, however, is known for its vegetables. These terraced slopes and valleys, located 45 km to the east of Munnar, contain some of the finest crops and produce in all of Kerala. The trekking routes to Vattavada are connected to many other important destinations in the area. A trek here can get you to other tourist favourites like Kodaikanal, Top Station, Mattupetty, Kanthaloor and Meesapulimala. People love walking these trails to soak in the beautiful natural vegetation. The locals are friendly and are always ready to help in any way they can. Private operators also offer special packages that include mountain jeep safari, mountain biking and jungle camping.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary

Chinnar is located 60 km north of Munnar. It forms an integral part of the 1187 sq/km block of protected forests straddling the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border in the Anaimalai Hills. The Western Ghats, Anaimalai sub-cluster, including all of Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, is under consideration by the UNESCO world Heritage Committee for selection as a World Heritage Site. 28 mammal species, including Indian leopard and spotted deer, Indian elephant, gaur, Bengal tiger, sambar deer, common langur, bonnet macaque, gray langur, Nilgiri tahr, rusty-spotted cat and grizzled giant squirrel.

Ponmudi Dam

The Ponmudi Dam is a concrete gravity dam built across the Panniyar river which is a tributary of Periyar River. The dam was constructed in 1963 as a part of a hydroelectric project . it has a length of 294 meters. Near the dam there is activity centre Dam and Dale Tourism Project offering Boating, kids play area .

Kuthumkal Waterfalls

Kuthumkal waterfalls is an ideal place to spend some quality time with your family of friends. The attraction is the constant mist emerging effect created by the high-velocity water flow from the waterfalls.

Kolukkumalai

Kolukkumalai is about 7900 ft above the sea level and you can some excellent views of the far off plains in the bordering state of Tamilnadu. This place is prominent for the panoramic views, and rugged mountains. Important attractions are Kolukkumalai jeep safari, tea trail and Orthodox Tea Factory established in 1935, “The highest tea growing estate in the World”. Best time to visit Kolukkumalai is early morning, if you want to see the sun rise.

Lockhart Gap Road View

Lockhart Gap is a gap between two mountains near Munnar, which looks similar to the shape of a heart. You can observe this gap and the surrounding landscape from the Lockhart Gap View Point. This view point about 12 km from Munnar. It offers an expansive view of the tea-covered slopes, mist-clad blue hills and winding roads in the valley.

Tea Museum

The unique tea museum run by Kannan Devan Hills Plantations Company Private Limited, the first of its kind in the country showcases the history of tea cultivation in Munnar since 1876 when tea was first planted in this plantation district. On display are several rare artefacts and curios as well as evocative photographs from an era long forgotten and of which few aware. The museum has a miniature tea factory attached to it where visitors are expertly familiarized with the nuaces of tea cultivations and processing as well as tea tasting.

Mattupetty Dam

The Mattupetty Dam is more than just a water storage facility. The water body that forms as a resulf of this gravity dam is often termed as Mattupetty Lake. Offering boating, horse riding, etc.

Top Station

Top Station View Point Munnar is surrounded by green valleys, and it is visited by tourists as well as adventure lovers. It is a heaven for campers, hikers, and trekkers. You might feel like being among the clouds here. And on a clear day, you can get a bird's-eye view of the valley and admire the beauty of Munnar.

Marayur Sandalwood Forest

Marayoor is as small town. Its is located 42 km north of Munnar. Is the only place in Kerala that was natural sandalwood forests. Ancient dolmens and rock paintings in Marayur date back to the Stone Age.

Lakkom Waterfalls

Lakkom waterfalls is a tourist attraction located near Marayur. These falls are part of the Eravikulam stream, which is a part of Eravikulam National Park and is one of the major tributaries of Pambar River.
